Alexander Arbuthnot. Born 1748. A native of Montrose (per Poulson's American Daily Advertiser Philadelphia 23 Feb 1819). Emigrated to Florida 1803 to trade with the Seminole Indians and represent their cause to the English. Illegally tried and hanged by General Andrew Jackson 29 April 1818. Married Mary Ann ______ and had two sons: John James Arbuthnot and R. Arbuthnot. Possibly Andrew George Arbuthnot (Table D).

David Arbuthnott. Born 7 December 1818. Died May 1913. Possibly married in Newmarket, Ontario in 1843.

Arthur Arbuthnot, alias A Le Pettman, confined in the gaol at Covington for some slight misdemeanor, confessed (14 Sept 1886) to having murdered ex-Mayor John Bowman in St Louis, MO, 20 November 1885. The confession was disbelieved. John Bowman had been mayor four times. Source: "New York Times".
