1.    Why do I need to register?
We feel some of the data is considered sensitive and should not be generally available.

2.    Does it need to be so complicated?
The Webmaster doesn't know how to make it simpler while blocking non-registrants from reading potentially sensitive information.

3.    What happens when I register?
You will be sent confirmation of your Username and password (and will be able to come in). The webmaster will be told both by email (and may delete your registration or ask you your connection to or interest in the family). That email should arrive almost immediately. Your computer will remember both.

4.    Do I have to complete the boxes?   Is acceptance of the terms and conditions compulsory?
Yes.

5.    Do you have advice regarding the Username?
Keep it something you are used to using, if it is available.

6.    Do you have advice regarding the Password?
Include a number to make it less guessable. Including by robots. We don't think they rummage for such things but who knows ...... Something like g6T7h9 provided you will remember it. Note the upper case / lower case combination.

7.    I can't get the Username / Password I want
It must be 7 or more letters and/or numbers long. Not 6. Be specific. BabyLamb is not the same as babylamb. Both Username and Password are case sensitive. No two people can have the same UserName but one could have babylamb while another has Babylamb. Two users can have the same password.

8.    How do I change my UserName?

Enter your UserName and Password. Hit delete. The Webmaster will be advised..

9.    I can't get in - why not?
a. The most common reason is that you are entering Babylamb instead of babylamb as your Username or password. Both Username and Password are case sensitive.
b. Other Users originally have accidentally signed up as (i) " alice" or (ii) "alice " instead of "alice".

10.    I can't get in and I've tried everything. I just get this:

Authorization Required

This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document you requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g. bad password), or your browser does not understand how to supply the credentials required.

Cancel your membership and start again (because there is a maximum of one UserName allowed per email address). Then re-register.
The Webmaster will help you with any problems, but there really shouldn't be any.

11. How do I cancel my registration?
Go to http://www.kittybrewster.com/cgi-bin/lockedarea/locked.cgi?delete
Enter your UserName and Password. Hit delete. The Webmaster will be advised.

12. How do I change my password?

15.    Can someone else get into the site using my Username and password?
Yes. BUT you have undertaken not to reveal them to anyone. Nor will the Webmaster do so.

16.    Can anybody else change my password?
The webmaster can but wouldn't unless you were clearly having problems. A change of password by anybody would automatically be sent to the email address you originally provided.

17.    Will I receive spam as a result of registering?
We hope not. Certainly not from us. If this possibility concerns you please email us, politely requesting that we obfuscate your email address by encoding it (it will quicken the process if you would please tell us the table or page you are on).

18.    Will you write to ask why I am registering?
Yes if we don't recognise you. Maybe in any event. That way (amongst other things) we learn more about the family.

19.    Is it possible the Webmaster might delete my membership?
Yes. If, for example, your email address doesn't work, if you flout membership conditions, etc, etc. We like to know who is visiting and why.

20.    Who is responsible for ensuring my "account" is working and I can get in?
The Webmaster. Who, at many times of the day, is likely to respond virtually immediately.

21.    Who wrote the code regarding the security?
It is powered by Locked Area Lite v3.2 Linux Stable, a product of LockedArea.com.
