This genealogy is not intended to be comprehensive.  (Previously omitted branches may nonetheless be added in response to expressions of interest.)   Therefore the generation indicator mark (e.g.  (A), (i)  or whatever) does not necessarily indicate the chronological position of a child's birth date in relation to those of siblings.

The starting point for these data is inherited family records, collected and collated by Eduardo Haviland Hillman 1874 - 1947.  Large amounts of information, genealogical wisdom, and inspiration, in support of the information included here, have also been received from living kinsfolk to whom the compiler is more grateful than he knows how to express. These generous folks include Hazlehurst Beezer, Marc Hillman and Debra West.  Residual errors are, of course, the compiler's own responsibility, but he does not currently know just where they have survived. Corrections, especially where sourced, are therefore always welcome.

The compiler pays particular tribute to the genealogical research work of Ian William Anderson 1920 - 2002 of New South Wales. Ian's own web site was for several years a mine of information on this branch of Hall descendants. Unfortunately Ian recently died.  Following his death his own website is no longer online: we are grateful to his step son for endorsing our own view that Ian would be pleased to see some of his work perpetuated, as herein. We also believe that Ian's work was at some point  uploaded to Rootsweb and should be incorporated there in the WorldConnect database, (though at the time of writing the compiler has not located it there!).

Please send comments, corrections, additions and amendments to Charles Hillman.   Additional research and contributions by Sir William Arbuthnot, Bt,
