Letters

To his wife

[Plymouth or Portsmouth Dock, presumably]  September 7 [, 1804]

Since I wrote you last, the Mars has got a great deal done to her.  She is new coppered, has got a flase keel, and every thing I have asked is to be done; so that now I am in great hopes I shall be able to show some of my friends how handsomely her stern is painted.

 October 10 [, 1804]

I have just returned from the Admiral, and have got my orders to go to Rochfort and join Admiral Collingwood.
